ACCRINGTON 2 McConville 28, Nolan 90 HARROGATE 1 Burrell 83

JACK NOLAN says Accrington have every reason to be satisfied with their start after his added-time winner left Stanley in fourth place.

The midfielder said: “Of course we want to win every game, but if someone had offered seven points from four games we’d have bitten their hand off.

“So that’s something to build on. We have to keep going now.”

JACK POWELL admits Crewe are searching for consistency after his lastminute equaliser salvaged a point.

The Alex midfielder said: “We gave ourselves a mountain to climb by going two down. But we’ve done it before, we showed some character and took a point.

“We are really keen to put together a 90-minute performance. We are yet to do that.”

GRIMSBY 1 Eisa 6 MANSFIELD 1 Oates 59

RHYS OATES believes his equaliser is a sign he is getting back to his best.

The Mansfield striker said: “I think I’ve had quite a few chances where I’ve made quite silly decisions really.

“I just need to relax in front of goal and the goals will come.

“I’ve got a few assists and won a few penalties, so I think I’m getting back to my best.”

RYAN JOHNSON credited Wimbledon assistant manager Terry Skiverton for the centre-back’s first goal for the Dons.

Johnson said: “If I’m going to be honest, it’s about time I scored. There was a bit of relief.

”Terry has been on at me for the last couple of games about getting into the box.

“Clean sheet, three goals, three points – you can’t ask for much more.”

MK DONS 3

MATT DENNIS hopes his 100th-minute winner boosts his chances of getting more Milton Keynes starts.

The striker stepped off the bench to mark his first appearance of the season with a goal and said: “I was just glad to be back in.

“It’s always going to be hard. I’ve got two top players in front of me so I’ve got to keep training hard and working hard.”

MACAULAY LANGSTAFF never doubted the goals would come after opening his EFL account with a double.

The Notts County striker said: “It’s a proud moment to get my first EFL goals. It’s been three games now but I’ve had the chances and I always say I’ll worry when I don’t get the chances.

“Thankfully the goals came today but I knew they would come.”

JJ McKIERNAN believes he is building a strong partnership with Morecambe team-mate Michael Mellon.

“We are building up our chemistry and it’s going well. I’m buzzing with him and he set me up for my first goal for the club.”

TRANMERE 3 Jennings 6, Dennis 36, Jolley 87 SALFORD 4 Smith 34, Hendry 46, 68, 85

CALLUM HENDRY’S Salford team-mates were shocked to learn his hat-trick at Tranmere was his first ever treble.

The Ammies striker said: “I’m delighted to get off the mark and do it in that fashion.

“A lot of the boys in there couldn’t believe it’s my first hat-trick.

“I should have had a few – but it makes it all the sweeter we’re taking three points home.”

CRAWLEY 0 GILLINGHAM 1 Ransom og 40

JAKE TURNER says a clean sheet mentality has underpinned Gillingham’s perfect start.

The Gills have recorded four successive 1-0 wins and the keeper said: “We have a clean sheet mentality and we have four in a row. We have to dig in even if we are not playing well.

“It’s good for me and all the back four. It’s pleasing to win when we haven’t played that well.”

FOREST GREEN 0 NEWPORT 3

Evans 1, 25, Lewis 88 pen

WILL EVANS says he was happy to pass up the chance to complete a hat-trick from the spot to avoid a nervy finish.

Evans scored twice but Newport’s Adam Lewis netted the late penalty.

The striker said: “I was thinking if Adam gives it me I’ll take it. But we had a few stoppages and I thought if it’s an extra 15 minutes and I miss and they score then it would be squeaky bum time.”

STOCKPORT 1 Barry 66 BARROW 0

LOUIE BARRY believes Stockport’s first league win of the season can be a turning point for Dave Challinor’s side.

The on-loan Aston Villa youngster scored the winner with his first goal for the Hatters.

He said: “The last few games have been tough. We deserve to have way more points than we have and to have scored more goals. We have been very unlucky.”
