NO FEARS IN ROBINS SHAKE-UP

- BY LINDSAY SUTTON

COVENTRY boss Mark Robins is determined to get rid of the fear factor – and promised a shake-up to stop his side’s losing streak.

After a fourth successive loss, Robins (above) said: “Some players are displaying fear, but I told them this is sport, not life and death like the Remembrance Day service reminded us of before the game.

“I told them to listen to The Last Post. I said that is real life. There should be no fear for us whatsoever. Last season was similar and we turned it round. We will work through it.

“Some players aren’t at the top of their game and asking to come out of the team. But I’ve lads who will come in.

“I’m looking for those who stick out their chests and are confident. Those who want to go and play the way we did in the second half. There was more pace, more devilment.”

Two goals from Haji Wright could not stop City losing again. But the forward said: “Hopefully the tide will turn. It’s fine margins. It’s not as though we’re being pummelled.

“We’re on a bad run, but we’re not far off. We should have done better.”

The 25-year-old USA international, the club’s £7.7million record signing, scored first and last at Deepdale.

The problem for Coventry was that between Wright’s goals, Preston hit back with two in three minutes from Duane Holmes and Alan Browne, before Milutin Osmajic added a third.

That ended a sevenmatch winless run that including four defeats.

Boss Ryan Lowe saying: “It was an advert for the Championship but emotions ran high. We were playing a team run by a fantastic manager. Coventry are in a false position and fighting hard.”
