OUR HOME WILL BE ’100 TIMES’ BETTER THAN COLD TRAFFORD

- FROM GIDEON BROOKS in Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN boss Jacob Neestrup has taken a pop at Manchester United fans by insisting the atmosphere tonight in Denmark will be “100 times better” than at Old Trafford.

His side were unlucky to leave Manchester empty-handed two weeks ago, Andre Onana saving Jordan Larsson’s injury-time penalty (celebrating below) as the Reds held on for a 1-0 win.

But Neestrup warned United will not know what hit them when they step out at the Parken this evening.

Neestrup said: “What can they expect? I would say with all the respect I felt when I stepped into Old Trafford, then I felt the historical atmosphere.

“But you can’t compare Old Trafford with Parken because the intensity is times 100 in terms of what we played in two weeks ago.

“Then this is a standard that, for me, is way above Premier League.”

Saturday’s last-gasp win over Fulham turned around a miserable week for United in which they lost to Manchester City and Newcastle.

Copenhagen lost to Bayern Munich and drew with Galatasaray, but Neestrup believes gaining revenge tonight will come from his own side’s efforts rather than United’s struggles.

Asked if it was a good time to be playing the Reds, Neestrup (top) said: “I don’t care. I also thought it was a perfect time to play Bayern Munich.

“We play at home, we’re a big, big club in Copenhagen, so for me it really doesn’t matter.

“If we’re going to play a team tomorrow who have won 20 games in a row or, in terms of your words, are struggling a little bit, for us it’s the same.

“For me, it’s not about hope. For me, it’s about strong belief that we can get a result.

“The penalty miss in the fifth minute of extra-time was what was it was, but it was a totally equal game.”
