Golf boss and wife celebrate £1m lottery win
HERE is one couple who know how to swing when they’re winning…
Ceri Roscoe-Roberts and her golf club boss husband Paul scooped £1million on a special EuroMillions draw.
And it was all down to mum-of-five Ceri’s “Friday feeling” – when she woke up on November 3 and had a hunch it was going to be their lucky day.
That sensation continued when she woke up the following morning. Ceri said: “There was just something telling me on Saturday I had won big on the lottery. It was the strangest feeling ever. “I picked up my phone and looked at my emails and there was one saying there was news about my ticket.
“When I realised I wasn’t dreaming, I turned to Paul and screamed, ‘We’re millionaires.’ He is a very laid-back person and told me to calm down and to let him check.”
The couple, from Bangor, North Wales, made the call to Camelot after dropping off their son to play football later that day.
Ceri added: “We heard the voice of the lady on the end of the phone saying, ‘I can confirm you are millionaires.’
“I’m surprised the car didn’t overturn, it was shaking with the jubilation of us all shouting, screaming and jumping up and down inside.”
The draw in which the couple won created 10 UK millionaires.
Domiciliary care company manager Ceri told how they have no plans to give up work but they want to buy a bigger house and a car each. And Paul, a member of Conwy Golf Club, has already treated himself to a new set of clubs.
The couple have two labradors and last week Ceri fell in love with a cocker spaniel she ended up taking home.
She said: “Paul went crazy and said we had no room for another dog. I said we would make room.
“Never did I believe one week later I would be in the position to buy a new house and have an extra-special room for our new addition to the family.
“I still keep saying to myself, ‘OMG, have we really won? Is it really us?’
“I always hear about people winning on the National Lottery and I am so happy for them.
“You never think it is something which will happen to you – but it has.”
