WE AB TO DO A LOT BETTER

- BY DAVE CRAVEN

Catalans v Leeds 5.30pm

JORDAN ABDULL admits Catalans’ misfiring half-backs must redeem themselves against Leeds.

Dragons were early Super League leaders but are now desperately hoping to avoid three successive defeats.

Last year’s beaten Grand Finalists were hammered 30-2 at lowly Leigh before being similarly bashed 30-8 at champions Wigan.

Steve McNamara’s side have scored just one try in more than 160 minutes of action, heaping pressure on his creative hub.

England stand-off Abdull (left) revealed: “Steve’s been really honest with the group and the halves in terms of where we’re at in attack.

“It’s our job to get better, get more points on the board, and as a group improve our mentality when things aren’t going too well.

“There have been lots of different combinations due to injuries and suspensions but we need to adapt to situations much quicker.”

The on-loan Hull KR star, 28, added: “It’s up to halfbacks to get points and create chances for those out wide. We’ve probably missed our assignment the last couple of weeks.

“Me, Jayden (Nikorima), Morguey (Arthur Morgue) and Theo (Fages) have spoken as a group.

“We want to improve and put our best foot forward for the team. We’re disappointed with how we played against Wigan and Leigh but don’t need long for a chance to redeem ourselves against a Leeds side who’ve been doing really well.”

Rhinos are seeking a double against the French side after winning 18-10 at Headingley in March.

They will draw level with Catalans in the table if they force a win in Perpignan tonight. Catalans are hot favourites at 2-11 to win.
