CHADLI: EXCITING TIMES UNDER ANGE

- BY STEVE JUDGE

NACER CHADLI believes Tottenham will be challenging for honours within the next two seasons.

The former Spurs winger played under Mauricio Pochettino when the Londoners narrowly missed out on a Premier League title in 2016, the year of Leicester’s fairytale triumph.

He is a big fan of the intensity Ange Postecoglou’s team shows and was also wowed by the atmosphere on his first visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Chadli, who joined West Brom in the summer of 2016 and currently plays for Belgian side Westerlo, said after the 2-1 defeat of Burnley: “They are an exciting team.

“I didn’t think they played very well today but I could see the intensity was there and they got the win in the end.

“I think in the next year or two they will be able to challenge (for a title), like the squad of Mauricio Pochettino.

“If they can keep this dynamic and this intensity it will be great.” Chadli (below) admitted he would love to play Ange-ball in front of the giant south stand.

He added: “This is the first time I’ve been here and I’ve been very impressed with how many fans there are here and the atmosphere they created. Of course I would like to play in this team, in this stadium. That’s what you live for as a player. To play in this kind of stadium. To play in big games.”
