RAS OUR GAME TO FINISH ON A HIGH

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

RASMUS HOJLUND says Manchester United’s players must “stick together” amid their current crisis and try to end a dismal season on a high by winning the FA Cup. United’s 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday means Erik ten Hag’s side have now lost 14 Premier League games this season, the most since the league began.

Ten Hag is facing an uncertain future, although United have the chance to win a trophy on May 25 when they face local rivals Manchester City, in a repeat of last season’s Final.

Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering side won that one 2-1, en route to matching United’s historic 1999 Treble haul.

But Hojlund (left) said Ten Hag’s side must believe they can avenge that loss this time around

“The FA Cup is the oldest tournament, if I’m not mistaken, so it has a special aura,” said Hojlund who joined United from Atalanta last summer in a £72million deal.

“It’s a great competition and now we’re in the Final we have to stick together and push through and see if we can go and win it. It’s the last game of the season.

“We’re going to leave everything out there.

“A summer game at Wembley, against our rivals as well, so it’s going to be special.”

Reflecting on his first experience of playing at Wembley – in the semi-final penalty shoot-out win over Coventry City – Hojlund said: “It was a beautiful stadium, I must be honest. Nice locker rooms as well!

“I had a good feeling there. You can really feel like this is the top of the top.”
