A thriller that will leave you gasping for more
THE labyrinthian plot of this Peter James thriller takes you down several blind alleys before the real killer is unmasked.
After the first couple of twists the end becomes obvious but it does not detract from the enjoyment of the tale.
The fear of being buried alive resonates with most of us and we can empathise with the tortured bridegroom-to-be, who finds himself struggling for his last breaths.
Jamie Lomas as property developer Michael Harrison was wonderfully
18.05.15 wretched as the air runs out in his coffin prison after a stag prank goes wrong.
Waiting at home is his fiancée Ashley Harper, ably played by Gemma Stroyan, who has more layers than a Spanish onion. And waiting in the wings is his best friend, Mark Warren portrayed by the talented Rik Makaren.
But the show stealer undoubtedly is Josh Brown, who was immense as troubled Davey Wheeler.
Gray O’Brien as hero cop Roy Grace never seems right in the middle of the action and his middle England accent exacerbates an already weak performance. Mark Small as his sidekick provides believability.
The show might compare unfavourably to the great TV dramas of our time but for fans of James and those who enjoy a little tingle of anxiety, it is a ticket worth buying.
