Truth? VAT chance
WITH a show of carefully manufactured anger, Nicola Sturgeon accused Westminster of being responsible for the imposition of VAT on Scotland’s unified police force.
She failed to mention that the Treasury had (repeatedly) warned the Scottish Government that VAT would be payable on a national police service, whereas it was not payable on local police forces. The whole point of creating Police Scotland was to strengthen ministerial control.
That has worked out well, hasn’t it?
