HAND ON HEART WE ALL CARE

- HEARTS v ROSS COUNTY CRAIG SWAN

ANDRAZ STRUNA last night blasted any notion that Hearts’ foreign recruits don’t care enough about the club.

The Slovenian insists such suggestions are hurtful to the squad’s nine new arrivals and miles wide of the mark.

Jambos defender Struna is one of those who were signed on a short-term deal in January and his contract expires in the summer.

But rather than reducing his motivation to perform for Hearts, he insists it makes him more determination because he’s playing for his future.

Asked if the accusations towards the new boys are hurtful, he said: “It is. Maybe somebody sees it like this or it seems you don’t want it but you do.

“If the team doesn’t win, like just now, then I’m not happy and I can’t be satisfied.

“The fans must understand. Maybe it’s not seen but all the time we are representing the club. That’s the only way we can step up again.

“Soon the results will be positive again. We try, we discuss a lot and try to find solutions.

“We know it’s not good. We know something is wrong because the results are not what we want. But still, we care

and we fight. That is most important.

“A player who signs only for six months wants to prolong his contract so he must show himself because maybe after six months, he will be without a club, without security, salaries and all this.

“Nobody is happy with these results. We live for this and it’s hard. This is our life, it’s all we have.

“The most important thing for me is the team and everybody at the club is together.”

Struna and his Hearts team-mates have been hammered after back-to-back defeats to Hibs and Partick.

But the defender insists Ian Cathro’s men can bounce back against Ross County tonight.

He said: “We were not angry with each other but we were disappointed.

“We all know we have had a bad week but we must always look forward.

“We must be focused on winning as soon as possible and playing well. Positive things.

“The most important thing now is that we support each other and fight for each other and also the supporters.”
