WITH more than 80 different types of Modern Apprenticeships offering practical experience in all sorts of industries, there’s plenty of choice for young people who want to earn while they learn.
If you think a Modern Apprenticeship could be right for you as an apprentice or for your business as an employer, here’s what a study by Skills Development Scotland found out: What Employers say: ● 89 per cent would recommend Modern Apprenticeships to their industry
● 75 per cent reported improved productivity
● 72 per cent reported improved staff morale
● 71 per cent reported improved product or service quality as a result of offering Modern Apprenticeships What apprentices say: ● Four out of five said their apprenticeship had led to working at a higher level, working for higher pay, doing a job with more responsibilities, or all three
● Three-quarters or more said their apprenticeship had a positive impact on their skills and abilities, improved their ability to do their job, their communication skills and how they work with others
● 81 per cent said they are more confident, 76 per cent were more enthusiastic about learning and 74 per cent have better long-term career prospects
