FORMER Buffy The Vampire Slayer actor Anthony Head has put his name forward to be the next Doctor Who.

Head, 63, was one of the favourites to play the next Time Lord before Christopher Eccleston landed the role when the TV series returned in 2005.

The actor, who first became famous in the Gold Blend coffee adverts in the 80s, told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that he wouldn’t turn the role down.

Head, who appeared in a 2006 episode of Doctor Who, said: “Nobody’s asked. But I wouldn’t say, ‘No’. Would anybody say, ‘No’?”

His comments come after Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston said that the “opportunity” had not “come my way”.

In January, Peter Capaldi announced he was quitting the BBC1 show, after four years as the Time Lord.

Former Death in Paradise actor Kris Marshall is favourite to replace him.

Dinnerladies star Maxine Peake and Chronicles of Narnia actress Tilda Swinton have been tipped to become the first female Doctor. TWILIGHT actress Kristen Stewart looks like she’s doing an impression of Danish actress Brigitte Nielsen in these sensational photographs.

The shots were taken for the new edition of V magazine by Mario Testino, who took some of Diana, Princess of Wales’s favourite portraits.

Maybe Kristen is eyeing up a remake of Brigitte’s 1987 flick Beverly Hills Cop II.
