Star must take Kerr of their injury problems

- LOWLAND LEAGUE 2 TEAMSHEET

DALBEATTIE STAR boss Darren Kerr could be forced to put his name on the teamsheet for the vital Lowland League match at Selkirk today.

Star need to win their remaining five games to stay fourth in the table.

But they will be without their three loan players from Queen of the South, the suspended Tommy Muir and Lee Wells, while Ritchie Maxwell is unavailable and several others are recovering from injury.

Kerr said: “We will have a depleted squad for the game and I’m trying to get players in.

“Paul Cook is coming to help us and Ally Mason has been recalled from loan.

“It’s a vital game for us and we will be without the three Queen of the South loan players because they are playing for Queens on Sunday so they won’t be able to play for us.

“At one stage I had 10 plus myself but I’m still hoping some of the others might still make it. We were expecting a tough game but we’re in for a really tough game now.

“Although we’re down in numbers we’ll just have to go there and turn in a performance.

“I feel we’re pretty strong with what we’ve got.

“We didn’t play last week but the results went for us and getting the points is the main thing. We’re hoping we can put another three on board or at the very least get a point.”

Leaders East Kilbride, seven points clear and with a game in hand over East Stirling, have a short journey to take on BSC Glasgow while third-placed Spartans play host to Vale of Leithen. INJURED duo Jordan Lowdon and Dylan Easton miss out for as they welcome visitors who have Danny Denholm back from a ban.
