I did not want my sis dead Scumbag faces jail for stalking campaign

A MURDER accused yesterday admitted grabbing his sister’s neck but said he “reacted instinctively”.

Charles Gordon, 52, said he took hold of Elizabeth Bowe’s throat after she threatened to knife him.

He said she took off her clothes, told him she would get him jailed for rape and said she would get a knife and cut his face.

Gordon added: “I grabbed her throat. I just kept hold of her. She started flailing at me. The anger in her face frightened me. I kept hold of her until she hit the floor.

“I didn’t want her dead. I wanted to stop her carrying on her attack.”

Gordon said Elizabeth got angry when he refused to run an errand for her. He denied prosecutor Iain McSporran QC’s suggestion that he was telling “stupid lies”.

Mr McSporran told the jury in his closing statement that the evidence against Gordon was overwhelming.

Iain Paterson, defending, suggested his client had been provoked and was only guilty of culpable homicide.

Gordon denies murdering Elizabeth, 50, on September 17 last year at her home in Bobby Jones Place, St Andrews. A charge that he raped her was dropped.

The case at the High Court in Glasgow continues. A TWISTED thug showed revenge porn pictures of a woman to her family – then sent her an HIV testing kit.

Vile Arran Adey also shared other pictures of the victim on social media, adding obscene comments.

He phoned her repeatedly and sent her threatening texts, including one with a photo of a gun. He also ordered pizzas she didn’t want and had them sent to her home.

Adey, 30, who has a shocking record of violence, tormented the woman over two months at addresses in Cupar and Dunfermline, Fife. He was on bail at the time for another offence.

He pled guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday to stalking the victim between November 28, 2015 and January 16, 2016.

Adey, a prisoner, was remanded in custody to be sentenced later this month. He faces another jail term.

In 2012, Adey put on a mask and broke into a 20-year-old woman’s Edinburgh home with an accomplice. He tied his victim to a chair, threatened her with a screwdriver and stole a laptop and £250.

He was jailed for 45 months but freed early.

In March 2016, police were called to a flat in Lochgelly after reports of a disturbance. Adey’s then partner let them in.

Adey, who had shut himself in a bedroom, told the officers he had a pipe bomb and would set it off if they tried to come in. He eventually admitted there was no bomb and was arrested.

Adey was also convicted in December last year of assaulting another girlfriend when she was 35 weeks pregnant.

He saw red when asked to write names on Christmas presents so they could be wrapped, shoving the woman to the floor and hurling a Christmas tree across the room.
