Victim tells of parole hell
A CHILD sex abuse victim has spoken of her horror as her tormentor applied for parole after serving just a third of his six-year sentence.
Sharon Baxter fought for 28 years to see pervert Leslie Kinvig brought to justice. Two years ago, he was jailed for abusing her and another girl over almost 20 years.
The 42-year-old waived her anonymity to expose years of torment by her mum’s partner that started when she was eight.
The care worker, from Saltcoats, Ayrshire, said: “I was horrified to get a letter saying Kinvig, 63, has applied to be freed.
“That will not be happening if I have anything to do with it. I will be making a full objection to the parole board as this is totally unacceptable.
“What kind of message does letting him out so soon send to victims of predatory sexual offenders?
“He still denies everything and takes no responsibility for his actions at all. It’s a disgrace.”
A parole board for Scotland spokesman said: “We do not comment on individual cases.”
