A NEW witness claims a Scot who fell to her death in Benidorm could have clambered down the side of a hotel to get away from a group of men before losing her grip.

Kirsty Maxwell, 28, died after plunging from an apartment block while on a hen do in April.

Last night, it emerged residents in Hotel Presidente, the building across from where Kirsty was staying, indicated to police someone had been trying to get down to the next floor at the time.

It has been claimed Kirsty, from Livingston, was in a “state of terror” and trying to escape from five men after entering their apartment by mistake.

Her friends were staying in the room below in the Apartmentos Payma hotel.

Former detective David Swindle, who is acting as a consultant to the family, said yesterday: “This guy came forward who gave us really detailed information about seeing the police activity.

“He took some snapshots of what was going on and he said at that time, while the police were there, there were Spanish-speaking people shouting from their balcony at the Hotel Presidente.

“They were shouting at police while pointing to the floor where Kirsty had been in as well as also pointing down. He got the impression someone was climbing from that balcony to get to the floors below.”

Brits Ricky Gammon, 31, Anthony Holehouse, 34, Callum Northridge, 27, and Daniel Bailey, 32, appeared in court in Spain on Wednesday and denied any involvement Kirsty’s death.
