OUR BIG, FAT, SLIM SECOND WEDDING DAY

-

A COUPLE have said “I Do” for a second time after losing 14st between them. Janice, 34, and William Robertson, 36, tied the knot at Dunfermline registry office in 2007. The mum of three said: “We knew we were both overweight but we were so in love. “When we first got married, it wasn’t enjoyable. I was size 22 and none of the dresses fitted me. I was sad how I looked in them.”

When tyre fitter William later found out he had diabetes, the couple decided to change their lifestyle.

They joined a slimming class and William has gone from 18st 10lb to 11st 4lb while Janice shed 7st and is now 10st 10lb. That gave them the idea of renewing their vows on their 10th anniversary and getting new wedding pictures to cherish.

Janice said: “Looking through our old wedding photos, William said we had to get married again now we had lost weight.

“I was unsure at first because my late father was at our first wedding but my family convinced me that he would be really proud.”

The Dunfermline couple renewed their vows in front of loved ones in a blessing ceremony at Janice’s mum home.

Barber’s shop owner Janice wore her dream size 12 dress iand William wore a kilt.

She said: “It was the most amazing day. William looked like a totally different man.”

Mum Pauline Tennent said: “Janice was able to have the dress she always wanted. I am so proud of them.”
