Liverpool kid Connor’s ready to be loan star
CONNOR RANDALL revealed he jumped at the chance to join Hearts as he is desperate to play regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old midfielder has moved to Tynecastle on a seasonlong loan from Liverpool.
He is a product of the Liverpool Academy and has been a regular for their Under-23s side. Randall, who can operate in defence and midfield, has made a total of eight first-team appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup where he was on the losing side just once.
The Liverpool-born midfielder, who was on loan at Shrewsbury in 2015, said: “When I heard Hearts were interested I jumped at it. I couldn’t turn it down. It’s a great club and I can’t wait to get going.
“I’m eager to get games under my belt. I’m a versatile player, I play with a lot of commitment and energy and I like to get up and down the pitch.”
Randall’s international clearance has already come through and he is available to face Dunfermline at Tynecastle today. Hearts boss Ian Cathro said: “Connor’s a very hungry young player, athletically excellent and has experience in a number of positions. He brings a great intensity to his play.
“He’s a player I’m really pleased to have been able to bring in. He’s someone we’ve been tracking since we arrived, as an option from a number of clubs that we talk to and spend a bit of time with.”
