Man in court over murder in capital
A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with murder.
Paul Beattie, 45, was arrested following the death of James Gatti in Edinburgh.
James, 34, was discovered with serious injuries at a house in Guardwell Glen, in the Gilmerton area, just after 11pm on Saturday.
He was taken to the city’s Royal Infirmary but died a short time later.
Beattie, from Edinburgh, appeared at the city’s sheriff court on a murder charge.
Beattie made no plea during the hearing. He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. A date for his next appearance has not been set.

Justine, 25, had a bolt put into her bottom lip at Savoy Beauty, in the Savoy Centre in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street on July 5.
But she was shocked when she looked in the mirror and saw the piercing had gone through her lip – instead of under it – and was sitting at an angle.
