We will all suffer if it’s Rees Mogg

-

THERESA May is in office but not in power.

If you need any proof of that, look at how many column inches are being spent deliberating over who might succeed her.

Once upon a time, the answer in the eyes of many Tories was Boris Johnson but he’s made too many gaffes now to be credible.

Plus, his guilt over lying his way through the EU referendum with a bus emblazoned with empty promises is now palpable.

Somehow, the Tories have managed to replace one buffoon with another.

Except this man manages to be better dressed, even posher and substantially more eccentric if even that were possible.

Jacob Rees Mogg is the man in question. He looks like he’s been dragged out of the 18th century and one thing’s for sure, his views should stay there.

A man who thinks that a woman who has fallen pregnant as a result of a rape or even incest still has no right to an abortion surely has no place in mainstream political discourse.

Of course, he’s entitled to his view as strongly as I resent it but he shouldn’t be treated as some sort of entertaining, media darling when his beliefs, if enacted, would cause considerable harm and suffering.
