Scot pens wedding song in jail
A WRONGLY imprisoned soldier has penned a song which will be the first dance at his wedding.
Billy Irving wrote the music and lyrics while languishing in an Indian prison.
Dance With Me will be played when he’s released and ties the knot with his fiancee Yvonne MacHugh.
Yvonne, 28, from Neilston, Renfrewshire said: “Billy loves writing music and that’s been a big part of our life and a big part of his life in prison as well.
“We managed to get a guitar in prison and Billy wrote the first dance for our wedding, which is just beautiful.”
Ex-paratrooper Billy, 37, from Connel in Argyll, is one of six former British military men – dubbed the Chennai Six – who were detained in 2013 after the Indian coastguard accused them of carrying guns without permits while working on an anti-piracy vessel.
