Prince William has a snigger at brother’s marriage prospects
THE odds of Prince Harry announcing wedding plans have been slashed – but his big brother doesn’t seem to be taking the possibility too seriously.
In fact, Prince William gave a wry laugh yesterday at the mention of a match between Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle.
All eyes have been on Harry and Meghan’s romance after they held hands and gazed lovingly at each other during an appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto on Monday.
Yesterday, William was on royal duties in Milton Keynes, where he met craftsmen who make the vellum for royal documents.
Paul Wright, general manager for William Cowley Parchment Makers, told the prince: “If Prince Harry marries Meghan. then his certificate will be in our vellum.”
William responded with a knowing snigger.
Paul said: “He just laughed – a nice laugh.”
Bookmakers William Hill are offering odds of 16-1 that Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, will announce their engagement before the end of the Invictus Games at the weekend.
There are 6-4 odds if the announcement is later in the year and 1-3 if the prince and the American actress get engaged in 2018.
William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said of Harry and Meghan: “They look very happy in each other’s company and I for one expect an announcement imminently.”
Harry was back at the Invictus Games yesterday – without Meghan.
