Airlift for 100,000 Brits if Monarch go bust today
UP TO 100,000 passengers of stricken airline Monarch risk being stranded abroad after a deadline passed last night.
The Government are said to be preparing to help with a mass repatriation, if the firm plunge into administration.
The Foreign Office have alerted consulates in Monarch’s destination cities to call in additional staff, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority were understood to have chartered up to 10 aircraft from Gulf airline Qatar.
The regulators are believed to have paid millions to have the fleet of A320 planes on standby in case Monarch’s planes are grounded.
Two aircraft are said to have
