Scramble for tickets after drama at Hampden
THOUSANDS of football fans are on the road to Slovenia after Scotland’s World Cup dream sparked into life at Hampden.
Thursday night’s lastminute winner over Slovakia has paved the way for a win or bust clash tomorrow.
And while some supporters started their journey, others were scrambling for lastminute flights and tickets for the game in Ljubljana.
Staff at Edinburgh airport entered into the spirit of things on social media, inviting fans to post their photos as they made their way to the game. But with only 1230 tickets allocated to Scotland fans by the Slovenian FA, securing a seat will be no mean feat.
And fan forums were alight yesterday with discussions of Scots taking several flights, overnight buses and lengthy train rides.
Tartan Army spokesman Hamish Husband said: “Scots will always find a way of getting into the stadiums – it may just be in disguise and wearing a Slovenia kit.”
