Documentary reveals the chilling notes of tragic star
TROUBLED Michael Hutchence penned heartfelt lyrics shortly before his suicide, it has emerged.
A new documentary charting the last hours of the wild INXS frontman reveal he wrote down his thoughts on a yellow notepad before he killed himself.
Described by close friend Nick Egan as “almost a suicide note”, they come in the form of chilling lyrics found in the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Sydney.
Thought to be written just hours before his death aged 37, they’re an indictment of his fame.
The lyrics read: “Wouldn’t be right to take it. Wouldn’t be right laying down. Sick of the dogs outside my window. That’s right take a look. New plan with a hook. Stuck into me. All the bitterness. Has started showing. Five years no one hears.”
Michael Hutchence: The Last Rockstar airs as a two-part special in Australia later this month.
Producer Mark Llewellyn said: “This is not a biopic treading over old territory. This isn’t Michael Hutchence defined by how he died but how he lived – a brilliant musician, a brilliant man, a loving father, a true rock star.”
The film also takes a look at Aussie Hutchence’s possessions that were kept hidden in bank vaults.
The Suicide Blonde singer died in 1997.
A coroner ruled that he acted while depressed and under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
