IT’S 50 years since we first heard the slogan Beanz Meanz Heinz.

It was coined in 1967 by former advertisin­g executive Maurice Drake, who revealed that it came to him in a flash of inspiratio­n over lunch in a London pub.

The popular phrase has been part of the nation’s psyche ever since, and stars from cricket ace Ian Botham to TV legend Cilla Black have appeared in the ads.
