ANDY AITKEN reckons Gretna 2008’s 5-1 midweek thrashing of Edusport Academy was the ideal way to prepare for a big derby.

Ahead of today’s crunch clash with Dalbeattie Star, Gretna co-boss Aitken said: “This is a big week for us. We challenged the boys and they’ve really responded.

“The Edu result was our best performance both individually and as a team.”
