SEVEN HEAVEN

-

CRAIG BROWN is backing the class of 2017 to achieve what no Scotland squad have managed since he was boss.

Gordon Strachan’s squad are on course to make it seven games without defeat when they face Slovenia tomorrow night.

Brown hopes the omens are good as the last time the Scots went on such a run they qualified for France 98.

If Scotland are to qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia via a play-off they are likely to be asked to go nine games in a row without defeat, something they haven’t achieved since a run of matches between June 1975 and September 1976.

Brown said: “I’m surprised we haven’t enjoyed a seven-game run without defeat in so long.

“People used to accuse me of being defensive but not losing goals was always the foundation of our success.

“We played 10 games to qualify for Euro 96, for example, and only conceded three goals. We also gave up only three goals in 10 games to get to France 98.” TLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME ON SCOTLAND... COME
