BRIAN KERR believes the Twitter flurry over Albion Rovers last week was the catalyst for their victory over League One leaders Raith.

The Coatbridge side’s first home win of the season helped clinch the Ladbrokes Manager of the Month award for rookie boss Kerr.

Joking fans bombarded Sky Atlantic with replies to a video of Alan Partridge paying tribute to “City, United, Albion, Rovers”.

The premium TV channel named Albion their team in Scotland and Kerr said: “It gave everyone a boost.

“We had concerns about our home form so it was massive to put it right.”
