HAMILTON boss Martin Canning has revealed his side’s casualty list has lengthened during the international break.
Accies were already without keeper Gary Woods, captain Mikey Devlin and fellow defenders Georgios Sarris and Grant Gillespie along with winger David Templeton.
However, influential stand-in skipper Ali Crawford will miss Saturday’s derby against Motherwell at the SuperSeal Stadium.
The 26-year-old playmaker will be out for a month following a clash with team-mate Darian MacKinnon at training.
Frustrated Canning said: “We had hoped the break would’ve helped with injuries and it hasn’t.
“We’ve discovered that, with the injuries we already had, the boys are going to be out for longer. On top of that we’ve picked up another one – Ali has suffered a niggle and he’s out for the weekend.
“He’s probably going to be three or four weeks.
“It seems to be a common thing for me just now – all I ever hear about an injury is three weeks. So in three weeks’ time we should have a right strong team back on the pitch! However, this is an opportunity for guys to come in and play. That was the disappointing thing for me against Rangers.
“I felt there were a few who didn’t take their opportunities as well as they should have.
“So we’ve spoken about that and now they know that, come Saturday, they must grab these chances to impress.”
