CHORDS IN FINE TUNE

- GARRY OWEN racing@dailyrecord.co.uk

VIBRANT CHORDS (3.30) can call the tune for Henry Candy in the Autumn Sprint at Leicester.

The gelding has been progressive this term and ran a blinder in second behind Spring Loaded in the Portland at Doncaster.

That is the best form on offer today and the gelding can go one better off a1lb higher mark under Ryan Moore.

The jockey can also take the Wreake Handicap on David Elsworth’s SIR DANCEALOT (3.00). The three-year-old has not been disgraced in Group 2 company on his last two starts and can return to winning ways dropped in class.

The promising BOMBYX (2.00) can blitz his rivals in the EBF Novice Stakes. James Fanshawe’s juvenile caught the eye when third behind the classy Ghaiyyath on his debut at Newmarket and can open his account today.

PURAMENTE (4.30) looks the safest option in the trappy Fosse Way Nursery. Jo Hughes’s juvenile was just touched off over a mile at Kempton last week and can go one better back over seven furlongs.

Champion jockey-elect Silvestre De Sousa is an eye-catching booking on HAJAAM (5.00).

Charlie Fellows’s three-year-old bolted up at Kempton last time and this unexposed type can complete a hat-trick despite a 12lb higher mark.

ENTANGLING (5.30) looks a warm order for trainer Charlie Wall in the lucky last. The three-year-old showed a willing attitude to score at Yarmouth back in August and can improve past some exposed rivals.

Alan King’s INN THE BULL (2.20) can leave the bookies seeing red in the opener at Huntingdon. Fair on the flat, the gelding is unbeaten in two starts over hurdles and can give weight and a beating to today’s opponents.

OFFICER HOULIHAN (3.50) can lay down the law in the novices’ handicap chase. Tim Vaughan’s seven-year-old showed useful form over timber and has scope to make an even better chaser.

MOUNTAIN PEAK (6.45) can hit the heights for Ed Walker in the nursery at Kempton tonight.

■ Arc third Ulysses and rising star Cracksman are still on course to clash in Saturday’s Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot.

And classy miler Ribchester faces a strong challenge from the progressive Beat The Bank in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
