Zidane is Mad keen on Harry

High praise from Real as they plot £150m bid for Spurs ace

- REAL MADRID v TOTTENHAM

ZINEDINE ZIDANE has opened the door for Real Madrid to move for Harry Kane after describing the Tottenham striker as “a complete player”. Zidane paid a glowing tribute to in-form Kane ahead of tonight’s Champions League showdown with Spurs in what sounded like the start of Madrid going public with their attempts to sign him. The Spanish giants are plotting a huge £150million move for Kane next summer and Zidane’s comments suggest the England star is top of his transfer hitlist. The Real Madrid boss’s remarks are certain to turn up the heat before the Bernabeu clash with Tottenham concerned about the growing interest in their prize asset. Zidane said: “He’s a very important player, a key player for Tottenham, very good at everything but he always does it all towards the goal. He does not stay, he takes the space with speed and he’s very good. He’s a complete player.”

Zidane made similar public statements about Gareth Bale before Real Madrid signed the Wales star from Tottenham for a then record £85m in 2013.

It was a clear tactic to turn up the pressure and the Spanish media are convinced they’ll move for Kane – with 15 goals from his last 11 games – and team-mate Dele Alli.

But Spurs captain Hugo Lloris insists Kane won’t be distracted and said: “Harry’s talked enough about his commitment to Tottenham and love for the club.

“It’s just part of football through the media. He will not be distracted. Quite the opposite.”

But while Premier League rival Pep Guardiola upset Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino by calling his side the “Harry Kane team”, Zidane showed more respect.

He added: “Tottenham is not just Kane. It is a good team and we will have to prepare well. Lloris will do his best for us not to win. It’s not only a keeper, it’s a whole team, a team that’s improving.”
