STV CHILDREN’S APPEAL – LORRAINE’S BIG LIVE
STV, 8pm & 9pm AFTER a year of energetic fundraising, STV’s sixth annual charity appeal comes to a climax.
And the eternally enthusiastic Lorraine Kelly is at the helm to sing the praises of both everday heroes and well-known faces who have been doing their bit.
Events have taken place the length and breadth of the country, from Sean Batty’s trip to Orkney to Peter Martin and Alan Rough cooking breakfast for the homeless in Glasgow. This is your chance to hear about the charities and community projects who will benefit from their efforts.
Over the last three weeks, programmes have showcased the appeal. There’s been a hard-hitting documentary about homelessness, STV weatherman Sean’s fundraising tour of schools and a 12-hour Bounceathon trampolining challenge by TV presenters Jennifer Reoch and David Farrell.
Tonight’s shows will look back at how they got on and share the heartwarming stories of those in need of help. Lorraine, who is also trustee of the appeal, said: “After six years of raising crucial funds for children and young people affected by poverty in Scotland, it’s fantastic to see that support for the STV Children’s Appeal continues to grow in communities up and down the country.
“This year we have seen some brilliant fundraising events by schools, local businesses and individuals who have given their time and commitment to this hugely important cause – while having lots of fun.
“The generosity shown by those getting involved, on any level, is truly heartwarming.”
