US cycle bid Scot injured in car prang
A MAN’S bid to cycle across America ended in near tragedy after he was hit from behind by a car.
Alan Corsie was on a sixweek adventure, travelling 3000 miles between San Diego in California and St Augustine in Florida, when disaster struck.
Alan, 55, who was trying to raise £3000 for Alzheimer’s Scotland, didn’t regain consciousness for 24 hours after Saturday’s crash.
The dad of three is being treated in a Florida intensive care unit after suffering several serious injuries.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Alan, from Kinross, said: “I got hit by a car from behind yesterday and didn’t know anything about it until waking up in ICU.
“Both ankles broken and a collapsed lung. Give me back my sore bum and knee anytime now.”
