Donor drive firefighters honoured
FIREFIGHTERS who run a campaign to register bone marrow donors have been shortlisted for a national charity award.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have recruited more than 9200 people to the Anthony Nolan register in just nine years.
The partnership between the SFRS and the charity was founded in 2008 by area commander Ally Boyle, who left the service because of blood cancer.
The firefighters are in the running for Recruiter of the Year at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards.
