Steve: We’ll give our all to tank the Scots

-

STEVE HANSEN told his All Blacks they’ll need to “empty the tank” against Scotland after making a single change to his starting Test line-up for the Murrayfield clash.

Codie Taylor has been drafted in to replace crocked Dane Coles as New Zealand look to preserve their 112-year unbeaten record over the dark blues.

Kiwi hooker Coles was ruled out after a serious knee injury in last weekend’s 38-18 Test victory over France forced him to return home.

The Kiwis’ second string followed up Saturday’s win in Paris with a 28-23 victory against a French XV in Lyon three days ago.

And coach Hansen said: “This Test against Scotland will be an opportunity for this group of players to take on the challenge of raising the bar on the performance which was set down by their team-mates on Tuesday.

“Scotland will be a formidable opponent who from all indications will be looking to play skilful rugby and an up-tempo game.

“Therefore we’ll need to meet this challenge head on and be prepared to empty the tank and exert our own pressure upon them.’’ Nathan Harris takes his place on their bench while flanker Liam Squire has also been included among the subs after illness kept him in bed for five days last week.

Subs Lima Sopoaga and Ofa Tu’ungafasi are in line to play their fourth match of the world champions’ end-of-seaon tour during which they also beat the Barbarians at Twickenham.
