Thistle hopes are Sky high

- JOHN DOCHERTY

SEAN WRINGE knew Lothian Thistle had hit the big time when the Sky Sports TV cameras rolled into town.

The striker admits his team-mates are enjoying the limelight ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie against St Mirren at Saughton Enclosure.

The East of Scotland League champs are massive underdogs but Wringe believes anything is possible in the Cup.

He said: “We know there’s a lot of interest in the game. The other night we had Sky at the ground which is different for us and exciting.

“We want to win the tie. We don’t be going out there trying to get a draw.”

Wringe and fellow striker Jamie Devlin form the most potent double act in Scottish football with almost 50 goals between them already this season.

Wringe hit a double in the shock 5-3 win at Stirling in the last round while Devlin also got on the scoresheet.

He added: “Everyone is buzzing and we will go out there and give it our all.

“It was a great result to beat the League Two leaders on the best pitch BRORA RANGERS fans have the chance to make the 14-hour round trip to tomorrow’s Scottish Cup clash at Stranraer for free.

The SFA will shuttle the Highland League outfit’s supporters for the 600-mile journey to and from Stair Park for the third-round tie.

Brora hailed the governing body and sponsors William Hill for footing travel costs for their faithful.

The club said: “Thanks to the SFA and William Hill, the supporters bus making its 14-hour return trip to Stranraer will be free.” I’ve probably played on. And now we’re playing St Mirren, the Championship leaders.

“Playing at home it was a huge lift because Saughton is a real leveller.

“The pitch isn’t the best and obviously our facilities are nothing like what St Mirren will be used to. Hopefully that will bring them down a little bit.

“It’s another step up to be facing St Mirren who are essentially a Premiership club. But it’s the Scottish Cup, a one-off game, and you never know what might happen.

“We will have to be at our A game and hope they might just underestimate us a wee bit.

“They have a lot of quality with players like Lewis Morgan, Gavin Reilly and big John Sutton.

“It’s a tie players at our level can only dream about. It means everything to play in a game like this in front of our fans.

“We’ve got a great bunch of boys. We’re all good friends who go out together.

“A lot of credit goes to our manager and backroom team for getting us here. They’ve been brilliant.” LIVINGSTON have responded to criticism from their own fans by knocking £2 off the entrance price for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie with Glenafton.

The admission price was originally £20 for adults for the visit of the Scottish Junior Cup holders.

A spokesman said: “We became aware very quickly that our supporters were concerned with the proposed pricing for Saturday’s cup tie.

“Having listened carefully to these concerns, revised admission prices will now apply.”
