Drought never a problem for Dools

PARTICK THISTLE striker Kris Doolan shrugged off his goals drought because he has enough faith to always come good.

The Jags frontman grabbed his first league strike in almost three months to snatch a 1-1 draw at new-look Tynecastle.

Doolan’s controversial equaliser five minutes from time was his first goal in the Premiership since the 4-3 defeat to Aberdeen at Firhill on August 26.

He said: “I haven’t been bothered at all recently about finding the net in the league because I have scored plenty.

“Goals come and go. That is the life of a striker and you have to keep being in the right position to score them.

“The minute you don’t score for a while and let it get to you is the minute you disappear. That’s not me. I’ll continue to be there to score and miss them.

“I’m quite happy, I will keep plugging away.”

Hearts were raging at the linesman’s failure to flag for offside when Blair Spittal floated over the free-kick that led to the equaliser.

Craig Levein also alleged it was handball before the ball broke to Doolan but the striker reckons Jags were due a stroke of good fortune.

He said: “We probably deserved the goal and to be fair we have been on the end of so many late goals this season. We know how heartbreaking it can be.

“We know what it’s like for them but it’s nice to be on the right end of it.”
