COLL ON A HIGH

- ICT v FALKIRK

INVERNESS ace Coll Donaldson admits no one is more surprised than he is to feel right at home in the Highlands.

The former Livingston, QPR and Dundee United defender agreed a new contract at Inverness until 2020 yesterday.

Donaldson’s settled in after forging a successful defensive partnership with Brad McKay that’s sealed a club record run of seven clean sheets.

Ahead of facing Falkirk tonight, Donaldson said: “I’ve been enjoying my football again and I’ve been searching for that for a while. I’m really settled here and it has surprised me.

“The gaffer trusts me and I’ve enjoyed working with him. It was an easy decision.

“I have gained the gaffer’s trust. The unexpected part is how much I’ve really enjoyed living in Inverness.

“Back home, you can fall into a bubble where you’re a professional footballer out with friends every weekend.

“Up here, there’s not a lot else to do than play football, particularly in the snow. Eating and training right – it has been a good fit for me.

“Brad and I shared for a bit. Since then, we’ve clicked and it’s shown on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, Paul Hartley is relishing the prospect of seeing Craig Sibbald in action against Caley tonight after 11 weeks out injured.

The Bairns boss is hoping the rising star can help fire his ninth-placed men up the Championship.

Hartley said: “Craig’s a talented boy. I’m looking forward to working with him more. We’ve got to be fired up in every game now.”
