From Back Page 74 of those games, draw six and lose the one to Celtic.

Aberdeen issued a statement saying: “The club is aware of the citation and, along with Duncan, is co-operating with the SFA, in addition to conducting its own internal review.

“As this is a live case, we will not be commenting further at this point.”

Skinner now has until January 3 to respond to the charge with a hearing due eight days later.

The Dons director isn’t the first to fall foul of the SFA betting rules.

Former Rangers midfield man Ian Black was banned for 10 games, with seven suspended, for betting against his own team in September 2013.

His ex-Ibrox team-mate Steve Simonsen, Ayr’s Michael Moffat and Partick Thistle’s Steven Lawless have also been banned.

Joey Barton has been suspended in Scotland and England for breaching betting rules, receiving a one-game ban north of the border and 13 months down south to effectively end his career.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne is confident the Dons will get the go-ahead for their new £50million stadium after a new date was set for a decision on the proposal.

The Dons will learn their fate over the plans when they go before Aberdeen City Council on Monday, January 29.
