Cops probe 3 assaults after night of violence
THREE separate police investigations have been launched after a Saturday night of violence in Ayrshire.
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found unconscious outside a pub in Largs.
He was discovered with head injuries next to The Lounge in Main Street at about 1.10am yesterday.
Meanwhile, officers are investigating two incidents in Ayr.
A 33-year-old man is being treated in hospital for a serious injury following a mass brawl.
Two men and a woman were refused entry to Crumbs & Cocktails bar as it was closing. They then had an altercation with a man aged between 18 and 25. As the bar emptied, another 10 men got involved.
Detective Constable Scott Patterson said: “The fight that broke out, firstly between three to four men and latterly between a larger group of men, has left a man with a serious injury.”
Officers are also probing a “violent attack“on a 30-year-old assaulted as he walked home with his wife.
The victim was walking along Limonds Wynd in the town at 11.10pm on Saturday.
The couple came across three youths and after a short conversation, the man was punched. Another three males appeared and two joined in the attack.
Detective Constable Paul McRoberts said: “This was a violent attack and we’re unsure what the motive was.”
