HUNT FOR MISSING SCOT

- MARK McGIVERN m.mcgivern@dailyrecord.co.uk

CCTV of Liam Colgan is issued by desperate family as hunt goes on for Scot who vanished during stag weekend in Hamburg.

VIDEO of the last confirmed sighting of Liam Colgan has been released in a bid to find the missing Scot.

Liam, 29, was caught on CCTV at 2.20am on Saturday, February 10, half an hour after he left his brother’s stag party a short distance away in the centre of Hamburg.

He was unsteady on his feet as he tried to enter a building in the Baumwall area of the German city. His family, who have confirmed he is the man in the footage, say he could be suffering memory loss and may have been injured.

The cameras captured Liam and a passer-by helping him up some steps.

The footage goes on to show Liam walking towards the nearby Michelwiese Park. He is helped again by the same witness to get into the park and is last seen heading towards the Portuguese quarter at around 2.30am.

Further sightings continue to come in from the Buxtehude area, although they remain unconfirmed.

Searches have been made there by family, friends and volunteers and more are planned over the coming days.

Liam, from Inverness, was on his brother Eamonn’s stag weekend when he disappeared.

In an update on the Help Find Liam Colgan Facebook page, his family wrote: “He might have hurt himself, maybe sustained a head injury and could be suffering from memory loss. He is probably confused and probably feeling vulnerable and lonely.

“It is a possibility something happened to him that scared him.”

The post also asks people in Hamburg to check any outbuildings or disused sheds for signs of Liam.
