NOISE EM UP CELTS
Sutton hammers Blues for cup draw cheers and says Hoops will make stars pay price
CHRIS SUTTON reckons Celtic will travel to Ibrox hell-bent on making Rangers pay for cheering when paired with the champions in the Scottish Cup semi-final draw.
And he is convinced rookie Rangers manager Graeme Murty scored a spectacular own goal by making their
reaction public knowledge.
Parkhead legend Sutton, writing in today’s Record Sport ahead of tomorrow’s Old Firm clash, believes the noise coming out of Ibrox is an attempt to camouflage a fear factor before they face a game they have to win to have any chance of turning the tail end of the season into a genuine title race.
Sutton said: “I’d ask the question, were they cheering because they were happy with the draw – or was it a total bluff?
“The closer we get to kick-off the more reality will kick in.
“They will be s **** ing themselves when they go to bed tonight.
“Rangers have won a couple of games and now they are giving it the big one. I would have loved to have heard that stuff when I was a player.
“It would only make me even more determined to ram it right back down their throats.
“This is a great chance for Celtic to shut Rangers up.
“I wouldn’t even celebrate the win. I’d get the job done and walk off, shrugging like it was business as usual.
“I wouldn’t even give them the satisfaction of thinking it was a big deal beating them.
“We’ve heard plenty from them but it’s now time to put up or shut up.
“This is when you find out the real characters, because you often find the loudest shouters are the biggest s***bags.” SUTTON’S BIG-MATCH VERDICT: WINNER P2&3
