CELTIC ace Scott Sinclair was verbally abused by three yobs at Glasgow airport following yesterday’s Old Firm clash. Police escorted the trio from the building.

CELTIC star Scott Sinclair was verbally attacked at Glasgow airport last night – just hours after the Old Firm derby.

Armed police kicked three men out of a lounge and marched them out of the airport after claims they had hurled abused at Sinclair, 28.

It’s not known what was said to the English star, who has previously spoken out about the racial slurs he has received from fans in Scottish football.

It’s understood he was verbally attacked as he prepared to fly to London after watching his team’s 3-2 win over Rangers from the substitutes’ bench. Airport chiefs confirmed the men were removed from the lounge and had their bags taken off their flight following the incident.

Reports appeared on social media soon after the alleged incident that the star had been physically attacked, but airport bosses said he was not assaulted in the altercation. A Glasgow airport spokesman confirmed the men had been dealt with by police.

He said: “I can confirm there was an incident in the BA lounge. Three individuals were removed from the flight and the airport by the police.”

Sinclair has suffered a string of abusive incidents involving football fans since joining Celtic in 2016. He has said: “It seems like it’s always going to be around in football because of a minority of people.”

Sinclair did not comment on the incident last night and the police could not be reached for comment.
