I’M NOT usually into fragrance. I wear perfume, of course, but I stick to two scents and rarely try anything else.

However, this week opened up my eyes, and my nose, to a whole world of amazing fragrance at the new Maison Dior department at House of Fraser in Glasgow.

It’s the only Maison Dior in Scotland and it’s unlike any fragrance counter you’ve ever been to.

With more than 20 private collection fragrances, inspired by the history of the House of Dior, as well as matching soaps and candles, it’s tricky to know where to start.

But Dior’s fragrance expert talked me through the collection and identified notes that would appeal to me. Rose, bergamot and jasmine are apparently my thing, and Gris Dior will be getting the top spot on my dressing table from now on.

While we’re on the subject of fragrance, I’m more than a little bit excited to be meeting Jo Malone this week when she launches her Jo Loves collection at Space NK in Glasgow’s Princes Square. The queen of fragrance will be in town for a Q&A evening on Thursday an a breakfast on Friday, where she’ll b meeting customers and talking about her amazing life journey.
