Full-whack Kat back on EastEnders

-

EASTENDERS diehard Jessie Wallace is returning to the show as brazen bombshell Kat Moon – despite claims that the character had died. Jessie, 46, has played the Walford favourite since 2000 but didn’t like her more subtle wardrobe in the 2017 spin-off Kat & Alfie: Redwater. And she demanded that her character come back to EastEnders as “full-whack Kat”.

Jessie told Radio Times: “I was worried because I felt a million miles away from Kat in Redwater and I thought, ‘Where does Kat go from here?’

“But I’m so pleased – I’ve got the cleavage back out, the red lips, the nail varnish, the leopard print. The louder and brasher, the better it is.”

Kat Moon returns to Walford this week despite her screen grandmother Mo (Laila Morse) claiming she was dead – and Jessie had a touch of nerves when she got back on set.

She said: “I was shaking. Luckily I was with Laila and Gillian Wright, who plays Jean.

“We came in as the three of us so that softened the blow.

“I was really nervous before I did my first scene but as soon as I did that I was on the floor and running.”

Last year, Jessie and Shane Richie appeared in the Redwater spin-off – which ended with both characters looking like they’d died.

Kat had fallen into the sea and been hit by the propellers of a boat, while Alfie was last seen flatlining mid-way through a brain operation.
