MORE than 50 firefighters spent five hours putting out a blaze at a car garage yesterday.

Crews were called to the scene in Glasgow’s southside at 5am.

They found the garage alight with a number of cars on fire and gas cylinders stored in the area.

No one was injured but parts of Scotland Street and the car park at Shields Road subway station were closed for several hours. TV PReSenTeR Davina McCall is always a woman in a hurry – usually to reinvent herself.

The 50-year-old likes to set herself yearly goals to make herself feel better.

This year, she is taking on Mr Motivator and next year, she’s got Calvin Harris in her sights.

The single mum of three, who has released 14 fitness DVDs, said: “I’m in the middle of this year’s goal which is to become a qualified personal trainer.

“Am I planning Davina gyms? No, I’ll stay on TV for as long as it will have me. My life has been changed since doing the fitness DVDs. I really love knowing I can have that impact on other women.

“And next year’s goal is to learn how to mix and get a gig in Ibiza. That’s quite a big one, isn’t it? I’d be like one of those clubbing grannies.”

Davina, who is separated from her husband of 17 years, Matthew Robertson, said: “As long as you’re not setting yourself ridiculous goals that you’re never going to be able to achieve, goal setting is a really good way of improving your self-esteem.

“You set yourself little goals and achieve them, it’s such a good way to make you feel good about yourself. Everytime you achieve your goal you think, ‘I did that.’”

And while she’s done DVDs on fitness and released cookbooks such as Davina’s Sugar-Free in a Hurry, she relies on her friends to get her through these goals.

She added: “I do this all the time – I set out a goal for myself and tell people. I think it’s to shame myself into making it happen.

“So if you are going to set a goal, I’d strongly recommend that you tell all of your friends and give people monthly updates on how you are doing and that will be a great incentive to keep going.”

Davina is no stranger to turning her
