GRIFFITHS DRUG TROLLS MAKE ME SICK

Griffiths slams social media idiots over failed test rumours

- BY CRAIG SWAN

LEIGH GRIFFITHS last night slammed the disgusting social media sickos who tried to smear his name with rumours that he’d failed a drug test. The Celtic striker was left shellshocked at the slurs that followed his admission to hospital with an infection as online trolls

at Rangers after tomorrow’s clash with his old club Hibs.

But the hitman – who has a year remaining on his contract at the City Ground – admitted he has his heart set on securing a permanent deal at Ibrox.

Cummings is facing an uncertain future but he revealed he’s already been trying to persuade Easter Road pal McGinn to make the switch along the M8.

Record Sport revealed yesterday the Light Blues are monitoring the midfielder with Hibs poised to cash in on their top asset this summer before he enters the final year of his contract in Leith.

Cummings said: “I was actually with McGinn yesterday. I tried to get him to come.

“I’m not too sure if that will go through but I hope it does because I have played with him for years and he is a good mate of mine.

“I don’t know what he’ll do but I would love to see him here.”

Cummings is hoping he will be around as well with his future in doubt beyond the end of the campaign.

The Scotland ace is due to report back to Forest for pre-season but incoming boss Gerrard is already assessing his options for next season and considering a £1.5million move for the striker.

Cummings admits he’d be thrilled to work with the Liverpool great.

He said: “I’m not too sure what the future will be – but I want to stay here.

“There’s a lot that needs to happen behind the scenes for it to happen.

“I’m hoping I’ll be here next season and this is just the beginning for me at Rangers. I can see a future for me at Rangers.

“The club is going forward and I want to be a part of it. I have not played as much but I have loved it.

“It’s very exciting to have a big name like Gerrard coming in. I’d love to play under him.”
