VICTIMS of Viagogo have reported an alleged dirty tricks campaign that is blocking refunds.

Many of those who bought invalid tickets for three Ed Sheeran shows in Glasgow were promised their cash back by the site after a backlash.

But others said they have been fobbed off on the phone and referred to a website that is continually down.

The customer services department of the secondary sales platform have been in meltdown after 20,000 tickets harvested by touts were sold despite resales being banned by Sheeran and his promoter.

On the Victims of Viagogo site, nurse Brenda Brid told how she was forced to buy new face value tickets last Friday for the singer’s Hampden show.

But after she sent proof that her ticket was invalid for entry, Viagogo claimed they did not have the email. Brenda said: “They said they had not received the email and they need to speak to me to know what happened at the concert.

“I tried to phone back today but they hung up each time, sending us to the website.”

She also posted a screenshot that showed the site appeared to be down, despite Viagogo telling some fans they had just 48 hours to claim their refunds.

Anti-tout crusader Claire Turnham took up the case of another victim with Viagogo, writing: “She sent proof of invalid tickets and entry refusal to you within 48 hours but the link you sent is not working.

“We do not consider this matter closed.”

Of the big four resale sites, only Viagogo listed tickets for Sheeran’s tour.

The Record has told how touts and the site stand to lose more than £1million in refunds after GetMeIn, Seatwave and StubHub refused to list tickets.
