SAYS TOM ROGIC
TOM ROGIC has revealed working with Brendan Rodgers was the key to him signing a bumper five-year deal at Celtic.
The Aussie playmaker is the man who makes the Hoops tick and reckons his boss at club level is the best he has worked with.
The 25-year-old is riding a crest of a wave after finishing the season with the double treble and will now be charged with providing the Socceroos with a creative spark at the World Cup.
Southampton were keen to bring Rogic to the Premier League but he believes he is in the perfect place and working with the right boss at Celtic to continue his development.
He said: “Working under him is very intense. He challenges you every day and doesn’t allow anyone to become complacent or rest on what they might have achieved.
“There’s always the BY GRAEME YOUNG desire to achieve more and become successful. He’s challenging me and I feel as though I play my best football under him. I hope I can continue my progress and development.
“I’m happy at the club, I’m happy with where I am. The club made me a great offer and I played my best football there and I’m working under the best manager I’ve ever worked under.
“It’s a great place to be to continue to become a better footballer. It’s a very simple decision and it happened quite quickly.”
It’s been a dream partnership for Rogic and Rodgers as the pair have won six domestic trophies together and will look to continue that next season.
Rogic will be part of the Oz side that faces France, Denmark and Peru in Group C as they aim to reach the knockout stages.
